Wavves & Beach Fossils @ Elsewhere 10/30, 10/31

Wavves and Beach Fossils have announced a co-headlining tour for this fall, called the “I Love You Tour,” month long tour that will span a handful of cities throughout the US, beginning in Washington D.C. on October 24 and wrapping up in Portland on November 18. The joint show will come to New York City for two nights at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Hall, including a Halloween show. The bands will split up finishing out each night, Wavves headlining the October 30 show while Beach Fossils will close out the night on Halloween. Beach Fossils also played a Halloween show in Brooklyn last year with Snail Mail, donning costumes for a spooky night at Brooklyn Steel. Last year’s show included an appropriately decorated stage, complete with fake cobwebs and tombstones. Both Wavves and Beach Fossils will be supported by Kevin Krauter of the on-hiatus band, Hoops. Krauter will provide support for all shows of the tour.

Wavves and Beach Fossils will be playing in support of their 2017 releases, You’re Welcome and Somersault respectively. Wavves announced a 10th anniversary reissue earlier this year of their self-titled album, released on Record Store Day. Born from San Diego native, Nathan Williams, Wavves’s distorted, no-fi sound was bred out of Williams’s original creation of music using just a cassette recorder and GarageBand. He gained traction online through music blogs and critics, his atmospheric tunes irresistible and ingenious. The band’s sixth album, You’re Welcome, puts clever sampling to use and was released under Williams’s own label, Ghost Ramp. Hailing from the opposite coast, Brooklynites Beach Fossils deliver their own brand of lo-fi indie/dream pop. The band began as a project of vocalist and guitarist Dustin Payseur before developing into a full-fledged band, first performing with an album created entirely by Payseur. Four albums later, the band’s most recent Somersault was released via Bayonet Records, a label created by Payseur and his wife, Kate Garcia.

Don’t miss Wavves and Beach Fossils this fall as they make their way to Brooklyn for their two-night engagement with support from Kevin Krauter. Tickets are on sale now.
