Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to Score New Jonah Hill Film Mid90s & Upcoming Trey Edward Shults Drama Waves

There has been a slow rising trend of popular musicians scoring for films. From MC5 to Johnny Greenwood, musicians have lent us their talents to make incredible movies even more incredible. Now, as Film Music Reporter states, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails (NIN) have been hired to score an upcoming movie Waves; written and directed by Trey Edward Shults.

Unlike most films using music to emphasize a moment or emotion, Shults has described this film as a Musical Drama in that music will be more integral to the movie than most, think Once. The movie, described as a drama following two couples as they discover what it means to be young and in love, will star Lucas Hedges and Sterling K. Brown.

In the past, Reznor and Ross have scored films together, some you may know more than others: The Social Network, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl. With intense movies such as those, the co-composers will have this movie locked on.

The upcoming movie Waves is set for production in September or October and will be released in theatres in 2019 through the company A24.

Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements).
