Sheffield originating alternative metalcore outfit Bring Me the Horizon is back to announce their upcoming sixth full-length LP, titled amo, for a January 11, 2019 release via Columbia Records. And to really increase the hype for fans, the band has also unveiled their 2019 ‘First Love’ North American tour.
Bring Me the Horizon is one of the few bands to make it out of the mid 2000s whirlpool of metalcore bands and gain a larger audience by evolving their sound. After really breaking out into the mainstream with 2013’s Sempiternal (some may argue they broke out with 2009’s There Is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret but sue me), the band has only been getting bigger and bigger.
Over the last several years since Sempiternal, the band’s fifth record That’s the Spirit went on to sell like hot cakes. Throughout their career, they have managed to sell a total of 4 million albums globally, playing sold out shows in over 40 countries to legions of adoring fans.
The band has spent this past summer writing and recording the new record in Los Angeles, with frontman Oli Sykes and Jordan Fish taking the reigns on production. Sykes describes the record: “amo is a love album that explores every aspect of that most powerful emotion. It deals with the good the bad and the ugly, and as a result we’ve created an album that’s more experimental, more varied, weird, and wonderful than anything we’ve done before.”
Their new tour will be kicking off next year on the 23rd of January in Nashville before making their way across the United States, hitting a total of 16 cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, LA and more.
