J. Mascis Announces New Album Elastic Days for November 2018 Release and Shares New Song “See You At The Movies”

J. Mascis, the shredding frontman for ’80s alternative icons Dinosaur Jr., has announced a new solo album. The record will be called Elastic Days, it’ll be released by Sub Pop, and it’s out November 7. 2018. He’s also announced a tour this fall to coincide with the release of the album, which will be his third solo album (all have been released on Sub Pop while Dinosaur Jr. have been releasing records on Jagjaguwar).

The new song to be released from the album is titled “See You At The Movies.” The track is not a radical departure from nearly all of his previous output as a solo artist and frontman of Dinosaur Jr. There are plenty of shred-tastic-but-ultra-melodic guitar riff over Mascis’s unforgettably appealing vocals.

Mascis began releasing solo studio albums in 2011, when he debuted Several Shades of Why on Sub Pop. His solo career kicked off just a few years after he reunited with original Dino Jr. bandmates Lou Barlow and Murph, who were respectively fired and quit the band in the ’90s. Dinosaur Jr. recently released their 11th studio album overall and fourth record following their original-lineup reunion.
