Brother duo Disclosure has released two new tracks for fans titled “Moonlight” and “Where The Angels Fear To Tread.” Both songs are follow-ups to their previously released effort, “Ultimatum.” Earlier this year, they announced that they were focusing on recording sessions for their new album, set to drop sometime this year. It will be a follow up to their 2015 album, Caracal. Due to them focusing on the new record, their inaugural Wild Life Festival did not happen this year but will come back in 2019 in the UK.
According to Pitchfork, “Moonlight” samples a cover of the standard version of “When I Fall In Love” by Sweedish a capella group The Real Group. “Where The Angel’s Fear to Tred” features jazz harmonies as well as samples from the well-known song “Fools Rush In.” Listen to the new songs below.
Update (08/22): The Lawrence brothers have graced fans with a new single, called “Love Can Be So Hard.” According to Pitchfork, the song samples “Princess’ hit “samples British singer Princess’ hit “Say I’m Your Number One.” The duo also discussed the inspiration behind the track, saying it was “inspired by [their] love of 80’s pop artists like Alexander O’Neil and Luther Vandross.” Check it out below.
Update (08/23): The duo has released two more songs with a “Funky Sensation” featuring Gwen McCrae and “Where You Come From.” “Funky Sensation” samples McCrae’s song of the same name that was released in 1981, while “Where You Come From” provides an original deep-house production.
