Daughters Announces New Album You Won’t Get What You Want For An October 2018 Release Date Shares Single “The Reason They Hate Me”

The Rhode Island noise rockers will release the new full length album on October 26th via Ipecac Recordings. Along with the announcement, Daughters released the first single, “The Reason They Hate Me,” off the much speculated about new album You Won’t Get What You Want. Listen to the new single below.

“With ‘The Reason They Hate Me’ we break from the narrative for a meditation on opinions and their assertion. For those insisting their critique is art: they‘ve got a name for people like you, “says singer Alexis Marshall.

“You Won’t Get What You Want is a decided effort to reference both my admiration for and my influence from, film, composition and other minimalist music, along with a few moments of self-reference,” Says guitar player Nick Sadler of the band’s eagerly-awaited album. See full track list below.

Their latest release follows 2010s self-titled, Daughters. The band has had a tumultuous career, with some members quitting and returning more than once. The current lineup consists of Alexis Marshall, (vocals), Nick Sadler (guitar). Jon Syverson (drums) and Sam Walker (bass). The band took an indefinite hiatus in 2010 after releasing Daughters, only to return in 2013 for two sold out shows in their home town of Providence, in addition to a few other performances in subsequent years. Last year they accompanied Dillinger Escape Plan at their final live show.

Daughters will embark on a limited U.S. tour this fall beginning on Halloween, with some dates already sold out. See full list of tour dates below.
