Milo Greene @ Elsewhere 10/11

The Los Angeles-based indie pop group Milo Greene announced their first national headlining tour in three years last week in support of the upcoming release of their third LP, Adult Contemporary, which drops September 7. The tour kicks off in Pioneertown, CA on September 22 and finishes in Los Angeles on November 14. The band hits New York City on October 11 at Elsewhere in Brooklyn. Milo Greene have released their first single from the album, “Move,” which they also dropped a music video for this week. Accompanying the band’s announcement in March of the new album, they also released a statement on their Facebook page where they teased what fans could expect from the new music. With over three years of collaborative writing and over 50 songs created, the band carefully crafted Adult Contemporary, saying, “It was therapeutic and inspirational. [We] don’t know that this new album sounds like our first or second. It sounds like both but also it sounds like [its] own.”

The self-dubbed cinematic indie pop band consists of a group of singer-songwriters who share writing and vocal credits equally, featuring Robbie Arnett, Graham Fink, and Marlana Sheetz. Milo Greene released their debut self-titled album in 2012 which featured their hit single, “1957,” and went on to debut at number one on the Billboard Heatseeker Chart. The band was quickly praised for their powerful harmonies and wistful lyrics, landing them sets at major festivals like Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo as well as late night appearances including Letterman and Conan. They followed up their debut album with their sophomore LP, Control, which released in 2015 and their 2017 EP Never Ender EP. Their meticulous attention to detail is obvious throughout their discography, the change in styles and sounds intriguing and captivating throughout the albums. Milo Greene prioritizes having all members’ voices heard, producing truly collaborative works of art.
