Danish rockers Iceage have unveiled a new video for their latest single entitled, “Under the Sun,” which comes off their latest album, Beyondless. Filmed during the band’s “opening nights” residencies in Tokyo, which, according to the press release, “was an inter-continental exhibition that saw Iceage collaborating with their favorite visual artists (also staged in NYC and LA).”
Staged as a performance piece, “Under the Sun” features the band performing the chaotic song surrounded by a beautiful display of flowers. Azuma Makot0 created the vibrant and eye-catching floral designs, a renowned Japanese flower sculptor you may recognize his work as he was the artist behind Rihanna’s flower headpiece on the cover of British Vogue. Makota handpicked the band for his flower-music installation series which he titles “Crazy Garden x Iceage.” The whole visual is like an interactive art exhibit with the beautiful display mixed with the hard lighting and the fast edits (done by Andy Schumann). When singer, Elias Bender Rønnenfelt sings about being laid to rest, it only fits that at the end of the video, he collapses into the flower bed.
