Aphex Twin Announces Collapse Ep for September 2018 Release Date Shares Video for “T69 Collapse”

Richard David James, the Irish born electronic musician, also known as his stage name, Aphex Twin, is turning heads with his ever so cryptic teases of new material. You know those logos that popped up in Turin, London, Los Angeles, the ones painted on metal grates and semi-hidden in foliage. It is an exciting way to get fans excited for new music, and it worked. Even those who are not fans of his music want to know what is coming for the artist known as Aphex Twin. That wait is finally over.

Today, he has finally confirmed what fans are waiting to hear, that his forthcoming EP, entitled Collapse, will be released on September 14th via War and will be available across all digital and physical formats. The EP will feature five new Aphex Twin tracks including today’s release of his video for his single, “T69 Collapse.”

The video that accompanies the track is a whiplash of a video sending those watching in a hypnic trance. With its first seconds of starting, flashes of corrupted images pop up before going through three-dimensional worlds. The song itself is nothing special, but with its five minute running time, it may fill loyal fans into a happy state.

Last night, the video was scheduled to appear on Adult Swim, but, unfortunately, it didn’t pass the Hading test, which prevents images that may or may not trigger those with epilepsy from being broadcasted. Watch the video below but be warned, those who suffer from the above may want to avert your eyes.

Aphex Twin’s new record follows his 2016 EP, Cheetah. Check out the Weirdcore-created visuals for “T69 Collapse” and pre-order your copy of Collapse here.
