TV on The Radio Announces Special Concert to Honor the 10th Anniversary of Dear Science Album

TV on the Radio has announced a special show in honor of the 10th anniversary of their album, Dear Science. The special concert will take place Septemeber 20th at the Knockdown Center in New York, NY and will play the album in its entirety. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 12:00 pm EST, with prices starting at $45.

Dear Science is the band’s fourth studio album, following 2006’s Return to Cookie Mountain, and 2004’s Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes. After Dear Science, the band released two more studio albums, 2011’s Nine Types of Light and 2014’s Seeds.

The album was praised by critics following its release in 2008. As stated in a press release, it was voted #1 by fans in Pitchfork’s Reader’s Poll and the #1 album in the Village Voice’s Pazz and Jop poll (composed of reviews by more than 800 critics) Mxdwn named it one of their Top 30 Albums of 2008 and one of their Favorite Albums of the Decade.

Rolling Stone called it “a brilliant balancing act between pop aspiration and music-geek aesthetics,” and Pitchfork stating “…this is shit-hot thrilling music. But it’s also brainy and ambivalent, and more engaging for it.” Since their last studio album in 2014, the band has continued to play their music for their fans nationwide. The band was recently announced as a performer for Nebraska’s Maha Music Festival August 17 and 18. Weezer, Father John Misty, Tune-Yards, and Benjamin Booker are also set to play the two-day festival. The band will also be playing the Hollywood Bowl with Grizzly Bear on Septemeber 23rd. Tickets are available here.
