Battles Are Teasing Some Studio Action in New Video Clip

Art rock band Battles have offered fans a little glimmer of hope for their next recordings, which would follow 2015’s incredible La Di Da. The video, which appears to be taken from a high-rise in some urban core (looks like New York), starts with a shot of the outside street scene before panning around to various instruments and electronics panels, all geared up to be used in the studio. After the video footage pans around the room, it finishes on drummer John Stanier’s crash cymbal.

Battles is the band that consists of Ian Williams of Don Cabellero, Dave konopka of Lynx, and drummer Stanier of Helmet. Is it any wonder that these three musicians, given their pedigree were able to come up with trio of albums as good as Mirrored, Gloss Drop and La Di Da? The trio have become a semi-instrumental band since the departure of lead singer Tyondai Braxton after their first LP (before the masterful Gloss Drop, which featured an appearance from Gary Numan).
