Robert Plant Announces Fall 2018 Tour Dates

Robert Plant has announced U.S. tour dates this fall in support of his critically acclaimed 2017 record, Carry Fire.

Plant, who will again be accompanied by the Sensational Space Shifters, will begin his headlining North American tour September 9 at LouFest in St. Louis, MO and will continue through September until reaching Austin, TX September 29.

The icon plans to hit multiple music festivals including the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival in Telluride, CO, KAABOO in Del Mar, CA as well as the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, KY.

Carry Fire is the artist’s eleventh solo album, and in a recent interview with UPROXX, he discusses his conceptual basis for the record, saying, “I’m just telling the story of my life and everything I can see that goes on around me. It’s a journal, really, more than anything, I think. Like not exactly a travelogue. Some of them have been in the past. Some of those albums back, way back. This is a little glimpse of what’s happening in my world and what’s happening in the sort of stratosphere in the air that we all breathe, really.”

During the interview, he also discusses how Carry Fire fits into his current worldview: “You’ve got to think really carefully with the way that things are right now. I guess that’s what happened in the late 1930s in Europe. There was calamity. So, yeah, we can all see where it’s at. Not where it’s at, but we can see the ridiculousness of what’s prevailing.”

Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters are currently on tour in Europe through August 1, with upcoming dates in France, Italy, Germany and more. Check out a list of dates for the upcoming North American tour below.
