The Prodigy Shares New Single “Need Some1” and Announces New Album No Tourists For November 2018 Release

For those unfamiliar with The Prodigy, they are an English EDM group hailing from Essex with a flare for techno, rave, and big beat. The group first began in the underground scene in the 1990s, working their way through the ranks and even earning themselves the unofficial title the Godfathers of Rave as well as a nice handful of awards.

Now, according to their press release, The Prpdigy have released a very new single titled “Need Some1” out now via all streaming sites. Alongside this single includes a gorgeously grimy post-apocalyptic video. It opens with a face-tattooed man smoking a cigarette before quickly switching scenes and bringing in a heavy lead synth to start the music. The drums bash in and out and a heavy techno-rave melody and beat break in causing the main character of the video to convulse his head uncontrollably. Though short, the song is a heavy dance track perfect for the sweaty and humid club nights and packs a heavy punch for those head bangers. Check out the song and Warriors-inspired video below full of action, drama, and dirty musicians.

When talking about the song, Keyboardist Liam Howler says that “Need Some1 demonstrates the thing about our band that I love: it’s multi-sided. We have the freedom to drop a tune like this alongside tracks led by Keef and Maxim, and still represent what we are about in the same way.” Referring to the Holloway sample, Liam adds that “there’s always one element in our tunes that looks back to where we came from. When asked what the new album sounds like, my response is: Evil Rave. We own that sound.”

For those wishing for the older days of electronic music as well as a break from the classic pop songs that treat our radio like an MCU franchise, “Need Some1” is the perfect answer. And if you need more have no fear as The Prodigy are preparing to release their new album The Tourists this November 2nd.
