Jack White’s New Video For “Corporation” Features Him as the Subject of a Murder Investigation

Jack White has premiered a cinematic new video for “Corporation,” which comes off his third solo album, Boarding House Reach, released in March 2018 via Third Man and Columbia Records.

The clip was directed by Jodeb (Imagine Dragons, Underoath) and runs an ambitious seven minutes, according to Spin. The narrative centers around the murder of Jack White himself and features rural-noir aesthetics (think True Detective, Fargo) set against a standout track.

In a March interview with Paste Magazine, conducted by Lars Ulrich (Metallica), White spoke about his creative process on Boarding House Reach, saying “I wanted to find musicians that backed up hip-hop artists on stage because I thought that was a special musician that can replicate what’s done on a hip-hop track.”

He went on to speak about collaborating with different artists from and letting each song dictate the style: “I never said we’re making a funk record, we’re making a hip-hop record or a rock and roll record. I never said anything about what we were doing because I didn’t want to ruin their take on the groove that we had.

Billboard reports White is currently on tour in support of Boarding House Reach, which is scheduled to continue in North America and Europe through October. The tour includes upcoming stops at in Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and many more.
