Sims x Air Credits x Icetep Share Another New Artería Verité Track “Octadent”

Rapper Sims of Doomtree fame, along with duo Air Credits and producer ICETEP have released a new track entitled “Octadent,” on July 10 on Doomtree Records. This the second official release from the group following “Hologramme.”

Both “Octadent,” and “Hologramme,” are set to be featured on the album Artería Verité, which is set for release on August 3rd. As previously reported by mxdwn, the album is set to hold dystopian themes “backed by the sound of sweeping synths over pulsing low frequencies.”

Both Sims and rapper ShowYouSuck of Air Credits are responsible for the rapping on “Octadent,” while, ICETEP and Steve Reidell of Air Credits are responsible for its production. The beginning of the 2-minute track opens up with an eerie synth sound before opening up with Sims on the hook rapping “All these levels, all these levels are inferno.” The production on the track then becomes distorted for ShowYouSuck’s verse, before the beat picks up again.

Sims is a founding member of the Minneapolis based indie hip-hop group Doomtree, who has released three solo albums going back to Lights Out Paris in 2005. His most recent release More Than Ever, which dropped in 2016, was produced by ICETEP.

The Minneapolis rapper is also involved with many side-projects including Shredders with Doomtree members P.O.S, Paper Tiger and Lazerbeak. Mxdwn covered the groups EP release of the same name in July of 2017.

ICETEP is a producer also based out of Minneapolis who has worked with acts such as Dessa, Astronautalis and Lazerbeak, in addition to Sims.

Hailing from Chicago, Air Credits are rapper ShowYouSuck and producer Steve Reidell of Hood Internet. They have two album releases as of late with 2016’s Broadcasted, and 2017’s Omega Virus. Air Credits have also been collaborating with Sims since 2016 and have been touring with the rapper for over a year.

Air Credits made headways on their own this year, making an appearance at “The Chi,” at SXSW back in March. The duo joined  other Chicago hip-hop artists Melo Makes Music, Knox Fortune and Joey Purp for the event.

The Minnesota based radio station Go 95.3, showed excitement for the album, saying that the group’s “powers combined generates the unique airy stomp of Artería Verité, swimming in hip-hop’s spacey vapor while firmly marching forward.”
