STRFKR @ The Bowery Ballroom 10/05 & 10/06

With a name that’s hard to forget and tunes that will have you dancing and bobbing along effortlessly, synth pop trio STRFKR does it all. Frontman, Joshua Hodges, says of the name, “It represented all I didn’t want to be a part of, all I didn’t want to do. So it does hold us back, but that was the point, originally.” All in all, the focus has always been on the music. STRFKR has a decade of music under its belt, including the catchy “Rawnald Gregory Erickson the Second” which rose to popularity after being sampled in a nationwide commercial. The most recent addition to the STRFKR discography is a three piece volume set, compiling unreleased songs that didn’t fit into previous albums. The wide berth of styles featured on the volumes shows STRFKR’s impressive range, blending 80s synth and electronic harmonies, featuring anything from snippets of songs to fully produced tracks. STRFKR’s 2015 recent release before the volumes set, Being No One, Going Nowhere, found itself on several Billboard charts – from rock to alternative to independent. It also hit number one on the Heatseekers Albums chart.

This fall, STRFKR embarks on a national tour in honor of the 10 year anniversary tour of their 2008 self-titled album. The band will perform the album in its entirety and will follow up their performance with a second set featuring tracks from the rest of their discography. A true once in a lifetime opportunity, their performances at The Bowery Ballroom are not to be missed.
