Pig Destroyer Announces New Album Head Cage for September 2018 Release Shares New Video “Army of Cops”

The grindcore band Pig Destroyer have reassembled after a six long absence to release their highly anticipated sixth full-length album, entitled Head Cage. The album, named after a grisly medieval torture device, is planning to wreck eardrums when it is released to the world on September 7th on CD/LP/CS/Digital via Relapse Records.

Today, the band has released the official music video for their brand new single “Army of Cops.” Directed by David Brodsky, the video and song feature guest vocals from Richard Johnson (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Enemy Soil, Drugs of Faith.) The video features the band headbanging and performing the song on a stage surrounded by lights.

Head Cage, according to a press statement, is a “visceral vortex of animalistic rage and extreme sonic brilliance, Head Cage is a true work of extreme metal art, that with the addition of a bass player, is hands down their most dynamic and heaviest recording to date.” It features twelve tracks which “weave together harrowing tales of philosophical dualities, touching on mortality and depression, fear and violence, and the darkest complexities of the human condition, all told through the distorted lens of delightfully transgressive vocalist/lyricist JR Hayes.”

The album was recorded by guitarist Scott Hull at the Visceral Sound Studios, and mixed and mastered by Will Putney (Exhumed, Every Time I Die, Body Count.) Head Cafe also features artwork by Mark McCoy (Full of Hell, Nothing) and features guest vocal appearances by Agoraphobic Nosebleed’s Richard Johnson and Kat Katz as well as Dylan Walker from Full of Hell. Fans can pre-order album packages via Relapse.com plus the album pre-sale, and the new single is available via all streaming services

To celebrate the album release, Pig Destroyer has revealed that they will put on a Head Cage record release show at the Gramercy Theatre in Manhattan, New York on September 22nd. There are also additional confirmed live appearances that can be viewed down below.
