Brendon Urie of Panic At The Disco Announces He’s Pansexual In New Interview

According to an article in Rolling Stone Magazine, Brendon Urie has come out as pansexual in a recent interview. The 31-year-old singer of Panic! At The Disco, who married Sarah Orzechowski in the spring of 2013 said, “I’m married to a woman and I’m very much in love with her, but I’m not opposed to a man because to me, I like a person. I guess you could qualify me as pansexual because I really don’t care. If a person is great, then a person is great. I just like good people, if your heart’s in the right place. I’m definitely attracted to men. It’s just people that I am attracted to.”

Last week Urie announced a partnership with GLSEN and his million-dollar pledge to support LGBTQ youth.
Pansexual, is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as “not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender or gender identity.” Recently several other celebrities have identified themselves as pansexual, including Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monáe and rapper Angel Haze.

Urie’s announcement comes just two weeks after the release of the bands sixth studio album, Pray for the Wicked. Since childhood friends Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith and Brent Wilson formed Panic! At The Disco, in 2014, the popular alt rock group have gone through numerous lineup changes. Urie is currently the only original member remaining in the group. The 2016 release, Death of Bachelor, features Urie singing and playing most of the instruments. Last year Urie won glowing reviews for his starring role in the musical Kinky Boots. According to Billboard Magazine, Kinky Boots won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical with Best Original Score going to Cyndi Lauper.

Urie and Panic! At The Disco are currently on tour in support of their latest album Pray for The Wicked.
