Christine and the Queens Announces New Album Chris For September 2018 Release Shares Video For New Single “Doesn’t Matter”

Christine and the Queens have officially announced their second album, Chris, set for release on September 21st. They also shared a second new song from the record, “Doesn’t matter,”along with its  unique, gripping music video. With nothing but an empty parking lot as a backdrop, the strong, emotional piece of performance art depicts a turbulent relationship between a Christine and a man. The two performers excellently portray the highest of highs — skipping and jumping jubilantly as a pair — and lowest of lows— physically pulling, clawing and straining at each other. Watch the video for “Doesn’t matter” below.

“Doesn’t matter” follows Christine and the Queens’ comeback single “Girlfriend” and it, along with the complete album, will be available in both English and French, the latter titled “Doesn’t matter (voleur de soleil).” The song wrestles with higher power in order to reach a driving and powerful incantation of soothing hope against mounting misery. “It’s a crisis song that I wrote late one night,”  Christine said. “This song is a cathedral, with a rhythm as unalterable as white stone. The bass line, I remember playing it for hours, as if to rock myself.” Christine and the Queens have announced a full tour of Europe, Canada and the United States for the fall. See the official website for tour dates and ticket information.
