The Chills, a New Zealand band formed by Martin Phillipps, has just announced a new album. Snow Bound is due out on September 14 via Fire. This album will be the band’s seventh studio album.
The band formed in 1980 has been a longstanding rock band in New Zealand. This band was a continued project of the work of singer/songwriter Martin Phillipps, the only constant member in the group. They found some significant success in their homeland in the 1990s and rose to be somewhat of a cult band in other parts of the world.
This album comes after the band’s 2015 release Silver Bullets. That album was The Chill’s first LP in almost twenty years. Snow Bound, described by Phillipps, will be an album about re-grouping, re-focusing, acceptance and mortality.
The Chills also previewed and released two singles from the album: “Complex” and “Lord of All I Survey.” The full track list includes:
- Bad Sugar
- Time To Atone
- The Greatest Guide
- Scarred
- Complex
- Deep Belief
- Lord Of All I Survey
- Snow Bound
- Easy Peasy
- In Harmony
