American rap-rock supergroup and remnants of both Audioslave and Public Enemy, Prophets of Rage, have just unveiled a new music video for their track “Legalize Me,” the third song from their 2017 self-titled debut record.
The not-so-subtle pro-marijuana legalization stance of the song can be seen in full-force in the new video, which sees some effects-heavy, glitchy presentation surrounding the glamorous act of walking around town, half-stoned and freaking out. The visual effects themselves are reminiscent of producer Getter’s video for his song “Head Splitter.”
The band, consisting of Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave, Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, and B-Real of Cypress Hill, formed back in 2016, in the midst of the tumultuous election. Though they haven’t quite managed to “Unfuck the World” just yet, they’ve been working hard at it.
Other clips from their Prophets of Rage include the clip-mosaic for “Strength in Numbers,” an attack on Vice President Mike Pence in “Hail the Chief,” “Unfuck the World,” “Radical Eyes,” and “Hands Up.”
