Max and Iggor Cavalera, brothers, and founding members of beloved Brazilian thrash/groove metal outfit Sepultura, have announced that they will be taking a trip down memory lane in a “special setlist” tour later this year.
Though Max had left in 1996 and Iggor finally departed the band (as the last founding member to do so) in 2006, they still seem to hold a lot of affection towards their incredible run across the 80s and early 90s. The siblings have recently finished touring for Sepultura’s 1996 record Roots, and will now be setting their sights on the band’s earlier/best records.
With songs from 1989’s incredible Beneath the Remains and 1991’s Arise, this tour is sure to be any Sepultura fan’s wet dream. Unfortunately, all five shows billed as “Max & Iggor Cavalera: 89/91 – Special Setlist” are planned in Brazil, with no information as to whether the tour will be hitting other countries.
So far, details of each individual gig is yet to come, with the exception of a November 3rd show in São Paulo with venue pending. Outside of Sepultura, the Cavalera brothers have continued playing together as the Cavalera Conspiracy since 2006, marking the end of a 10-year feud between the brothers which caused Max to leave in the first place.
