With festival season more or less year round and a high majority of those festivals already releasing their lineup, there is not much mystery surrounding who will be playing what festival. That is, unless you are curious about the Eaux Claires Festival.
The festival is hosted and was created by Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver) and Aaron Dessner (of The National) and usually takes place in Wisconsin. Even though the festival is scheduled to begin on July 6 next week, the musical lineup has yet to be posted. This, though, is not necessarily a bad thing. As Pitchfork states in their article, Vernon says that there are no tricks up their sleeves for this festival. There is still music happening, but the festival just wants to surprise its guests and not focus on revenue.
There has been no official lineup released, but there have been hints as to who may be performing. Pitchfork expertly examined these clues and discovered the possibility of Moses Sumney, Nonname, Phoebe Bridgers, and Sharon Van Etten performing. Most likely The National will also play and hopefully Justin Vernon or Bon Iver, too!
Aside from working to curate the festival, Vernon and the Dessner brothers have also launched PEOPLE; an artist collective that takes place digitally and features new music from their musical project Big Red Machine. PEOPLE will also be hosting an event in Berlin this August.
