Guns N’ Roses’ song “November Rain” is an 8-minute musical epic that has awed the ears and brains of many across the world. The song begins with a ballad-esque introduction of piano and strings that plays into a small chorus of ‘oohs’ alongside the ring of a drum set. Almost 2 minutes in and the lead vocals come in, classically raspy and encompassing the classic voice that is synonymous with rock n’ roll. As all classic rock ballads should, the track has a shredding and heartfelt solo that tugs at the strings of all our rock-dad hearts.

As of two days ago, according to Loudwire, Guns N’ Roses have released a previously unheard of stripped down, solo piano version of the massive musical number as above mentioned. To make this version even more special, this is not a recent rerecording of “November Rain,” but rather it was created in 1986, made to dust on a shelf.

This new take on a rock and roll classic was released in support of Guns N’ Roses’ reissue of Appetite for Destruction as well as the Locked N’ Loaded box set (which came out Friday June 29). The box set goes for $999 with only 10,000 units available. Appetite for Destriction: Locked N’ Loaded box set includes a hardcover photo album from Axl Rose’s personal collection, as well as four CDs (which contains 49 unreleased tracks and more), lithographs, rings, buttons, patches, a stack of vinyl, and more. Essentially, you are most definitely getting your money’s worth.

Their song “November Rain” came out on the Use Your Illusion album in 1991 and was also released as a single in 1992. Since then, the song has been one of their most coveted tracks with this version featuring just Axl Rose on piano. A beautiful treat for the ears.
