In 2006, Radiohead began touring and workshopping material that would become their 2007 landmark album, In Rainbows. During the tour, the band also played tracks that would never make the album including the bluesy, “Come to Your Senses,” which was recorded during a soundcheck on June 24, when the band played a show at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA.
According to Consequences of Sound, the track was recorded by bootlegger Hoserama who posted a one-minute excerpt of the performance online. The snippet is all fans ever heard of the performance until Hoserama marked the 12th anniversary of the show by releasing the full audio of the rare track.
The last few months have brought a number of Radiohead unicorns including Thom Yorke’s first live performance of “Spectre” on May 29 in Milan, Italy. “Spectre” was rejected by the Bond film and originally released by Radiohead on Christmas in 2015. Yorke said of the 2015 release, “Last year we were asked to write a tune for Bond movie Spectre. Yes we were,” he tweeted. “It didn’t work out … but became something of our own which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”
During an April show in Rio De Janeiro, Yorke also played a rare acoustic version of “True Love Waits.” The performance marked the first time Yorke had played the song’s original acoustic arrangement since 2003.
On July 6, Radiohead kicked off their 16-date North American tour in Chicago, IL. The tour concludes August 1 and has remaining stops in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Boston and Philadelphia.
