American electropop singer-songwriter Halsey has just dropped a new music video for their song “Strangers,” which features Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui.
The music video is the fifth and final installment in the series of music videos the artist created for her 2017 concept album hopeless fountain kingdom. The story follows a somewhat gender-flipped Romeo and Juliet storyline, with certain aspects left to be reinterpreted.
The clip features the two singers suited up in braids and boxing gloves, with Halsey as “Luna” and Jauregui as “Rosa.” The two duke it out in the ring, leading to a truly bloody boxing match that pits the “red” and “white” houses of Romeo and Juliet, against each other.
By the end of the clip, Halsey is crowned as the victor, as she raises her fist above her bloodied face. She is finally able to meet “Angelus,” the wings-wearing member of Rosa’s family whom Luna is torn apart from in the video for Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’s first single “Now or Never.”
Before she began releasing these music videos, Halsey previously dropped a new song titled “Alone” featuring Big Sean and Stefflon Don.
