Acclaimed experimental folk group Blitzen Trapper have announced details for an expansive fall tour of the US, where the group will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed Sub Pop debut Furr by performing the record in its entirety. By blending old-school folk stylings and modern indie influences, Furr was one of 2008’s most memorable albums, landing in 13th place on Rolling Stone’s 50 best albums of 2008. The 32 date fall tour will see the group crisscrossing Canada and the United States, bringing their powerful live show to a rabid and devoted fan base. Since the release of Furr, Blitzen Trapper has become a mainstay in the alt-country and folk scene, with the band releasing two strong albums recently in the form of All Across This Land and Wild and Reckless.
Sub Pop Records will be releasing a special edition 10th anniversary version of Furr on September 14th. The two-LP reissue will include an entire album’s worth of unreleased recordings from the period as well as some special live recordings from the Furr tour. Before embarking on their Furr anniversary tour, Blitzen Trapper will be making two special appearances in Oregon with fellow Sub Pop artist Father John Misty.
