New Order Announces Summer 2018 Tour Dates

New Order

New Order has announced a slew of new tour dates later this year. The tour will include some festival appearances including Cleveland’s InCuya Music Festival and the Music Tastes Good Festival in Long Beach, CA. alongside James Blake, Santigold, and Lizzo. The tour will also visit Toronto and Hawaii for two-nights. According to Spin, the band released a live album last year called NOMC15, following their 2015 studio album Music Complete.

The band recently reached a “full and final settlement” with former bassist Peter Hook. The long-running dispute was in regards to ownership of both New Order and Joy Division assets.  Hook claimed the band excluded him after the band started new company in 2011 to assist the band financially. The band had allotted Hook a 1.25% stake in the New Order’s income and feels that is the fair share that he should receive. However, Hook feels his stake should be more around the 12.5% range

Hook was shorted £2.3 million (around $3.5 million at the time of the claim. The band made a statement, saying; “New Order announce that today, a full and final settlement has been reached in the long-running disputes with their former bassist Peter Hook.” It continues to say that, “The Joy Division and New Order names mean a great deal to so many of the fans, and the band felt it important to protect the legacy. With these issues now dealt with, Bernard, Stephen and Gillian can continue to do what they do best, make music and perform live.”
