Nas Releases New Album Nasir Produced by Kanye West

Rap influences Nas and Kanye West have teamed up for the release of Nasir, the eleventh studio album by Nas. Entirely produced by West, the release of this album has been heavily anticipated by the rap community. Put out via Def Jam and Mass Appeal Records, Nasir has features from Puff Daddy, Tony Williams and also West.

The livestream event for Nasir was held Thursday, June 14 from Queensbridge, New York via YouTube. Reported by Pitchfork, the first run through of the album failed to stream but the second play of the album was streamed successfully.

West has been busy this year with the release of many projects including Pusha T’s Daytona, a project that easily became standout release of 2018. Additionally West also put out a joint album with Kid Cudi Kids See Ghosts. Also West surprise released his 8th studio album Ye.

Nasir is the follow up to Nas’ 2012 Life Is Good. While Nas’ music endeavors have been quiet up until recently, his last update includes the rant in which he referred to Donald Trump as racist in an open letter.
