There have been rumors surrounding new music from the band Manchester Orchestra and it looks like those rumors rang true. Through a recent press release, the creators of the acclaimed 2017 album A Black Mile to the Surface have released their first new music since titled “I Know How to Speak.” Check out the music below. The song opens with a warm acoustic line accompanied by twinkling piano and crisp drums which blend into a somber yet perpetual harmony. Vocals begin and the memories of Manchester Orchestra’s music floods in happy memories. The rough velvet voice drives the song in a cooling moment of euphoria as the vocals tail off into the wind and the song continues starting back at its introduction.

Although just a song, the music and vocals bring in a safe and fresh feeling as if one is leaving a peaceful mountainside life. If you’re looking to take a break from lights, cities, and car horns then just slip on some headphones while you slip into the new Manchester Orchestra. Listen to the song below.

Their past 2017 album A Black Mile to the Surface was a beautiful golden cacophony that earned them praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Entertainment Weekly, New York Magazine, Vulture, Noisey, Exclaim!, Brooklyn Vegan, The Line of Best Fit, Uproxx, Alternative Press, and Kerrang!.

Jeremy Bacharach: Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy has always been a lover of music. After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves. Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements). Being able to write about what has become the main focus in his life only brings more joy to Jeremy as he is extrmely grateful to be a part of mxdwn!
