Alt-rock band The Smashing Pumpkins share their first new song called “Solara.” It is the group’s first new song in 18 years and features founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin. The song was recorded in Malibu, CA with Rick Rubin serving as the producer. The song’s title was revealed by Corgan earlier this year along with some others. “Solara” stays true to their rock and roll sound. In a press release, the song will make its television debut on June 11th, with the band set to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The band will then perform and have an interview on The Howard Stern Show the following day.

The band recently announced a sweepstake for fans, with a chance to see the band live at an undisclosed intimate venue in Los Angeles on June 28th. The sweepstake is to help the band kick off their Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour, which kicks off July 12th in Glendale, AZ. The tour will major cities across North America including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, before concluding on September 9th in Edmonton. Rock band Metric will be supporting the band and will have a special 30th-anniversary show on August 2nd in Holmdel, NJ at the PNC Bank Arts Center. Check out the rest of the tour dates below.
