UPDATE (9/5): As we enter the first week of September and those holding tickets for the festival count down the days until the big event occurring in Louisville, Kentucky, there is an update to the lineup. Earlier this summer, the music world lost the legendary drummer, Vinnie Paul. Before his sudden death, his band Hellyeah was set to play at the upcoming Louder Than Life festival.

Now, it seems like a tribute is planned for the event that will feature an all-star list of superstars including members of Korn, Deftones, Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, Body Count and more. The set at this year’s Louder Than Life will see these musicians playing songs by Paul’s band Pantera as well as his other band, Damageplan.

Danny Wimmer and Sirius XM organizing the tribute scheduled to occur on September 29th.

UPDATE (9/25): Due to flooding and severe weather, the organizers of both Bourbon & Beyond and Louder than Life festivals have canceled the upcoming events, this according to WDRB

The officials posted the cancellation via Facebook Monday night expressing that, “it is no longer possible to make the festival safe in time for this weekend.” According to the post, there was an attempt to move the festival but problems arose regarding safety and moving the equipment.

Another statement was released during a press conference Tuesday where the organizers gave detail description of the issues surrounding stage inspections due to rain and mud, “Tuesday, we couldn’t get the stage certified as safe,” organizer Billy Hayes said. “That wasn’t going to be able to happen until at least Friday, and at that point, it’s impossible to even load equipment onto the stage.”

Those with tickets, passes and or hotel and camping purchases are said to get a full refund. People should expect three weeks to see any changes.
