Melvins and Cheap Trick Team Up in Kansas City for “Surrender”

Melvins are on tour right now and in partnership with Brooklyn Vegan, have been posting tour diaries. With the third edition of the diary comes news of a pretty rad team-up – Melvins working with classic rock icons Cheap Trick to perform a cover of their hard-rockin’ power-pop hit “Surrender.”

The two bands happened to be playing together in the city of Kansas City, MO on the 25th of May. The two bands took the opportunity to perform together on stage, with Melvins coming out during Cheap Trick’s set at the Sprint Center near downtown Kansas City. Cheap Trick was in town for their tour with 80s hair metal band Poison. Check out the footage of the performance below:

Melvins recently released new album called Pinkus Abortion Technician, which included contributions from Jeff Pinkus, the bassist for Butthole Surfers (hence the title). Just the year before, the band released A Walk With Love And Death, which was their first-ever double album.
