Oh Sees (also known as The OCS, and Thee Oh Sees) are back with new album, Smote Reverser, which is set to come out on August 17th via Castle Rock Records. As reported by Consequence of Sound, Oh Sees have released a new track from the record, the frantic punk rock of “Overthrown.” The song is a fast-paced and grungy song, relying on the heavy guitar playing and wild singing of John Dwyer, who cranks up the distortion on his guitar and his vocals to give the track a street-level blast of fury. Alternating between screaming punk chords and more spacey, almost jazz-like sections, the song is bound to please longtime fans of the group.

This marks the first new recording under the moniker of Oh Sees since last year’s awesome Orc. For over twenty years, Oh Sees have been pumping out sweltering and wild rock music, with Dwyer leading the band through a myriad of name and lineup changes, while always seeking to expand the band’s sound and approach to making records.
