Kristin Hersh has just signed with Fire Records and she plans to release a new album, Possible Dust Clouds in October 2018. Her new track, “LAX” from the album, is available on Soundcloud. This song has a rock-blues groove to it as the listener listens. She chronicles an experience at “LAX” as she sings “waiting to be gone” and “waiting to disappear” and “can’t wait to be still.” While listening, one can feel and hear the busyness and the restlessness of the “LAX” airport.
This is not the first album of her career. She is an old pro. She has written and released ten albums before this one. A talented musician, Kristin played almost all the instruments one can hear on her 2001 album Sunny Border Blue. IN 2003, she released The Grotto. In 2007, she released her first solo album, Learn to Sing Like a Star.
On her signing with a new label, she says, “I’m thrilled to find some likeminded teammates in the paradigm of the recording industry. Together, we can do a lot more damage than we could ever pull off alone, and the damage is what’s called for when an old guard is falling. This is gonna be a swell party.”
She will also set out on her first solo tour in June. The tour will span over the UK. She will be touring with friend and former Throwing Muses and Belly bass player Fred Abong. On tour, he will be debuting his new solo acoustic EP. Fred and Kristin will tour together as a symbol of their long-lasting friendship and to support each other in their solo music endeavors.
