Lord Huron Releases New Version of “The Night We Met” Featuring Phoebe Bridgers for Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why Soundtrack

This week, the video streaming service Netflix released the second season of its acclaimed original series 13 Reasons Why.  If you are a big fan, you have probably already curled up on the couch, popcorn in hand and binged all 13 episodes of the season in one night. Also released this week is the soundtrack to the series which features Selena Gomez who also has the title of executive producer of the soundtrack, shared a brand new song as well as Years & Years who have lent ‘Sanctify,’ from their forthcoming new album Palo Santo to the TV series. The new soundtrack also features a new recording of Lord Huron’s “The Night We Met.”

The song, “The Night We Met” comes off the band’s 2015 album Strange Trails and appeared on the first season of the Netflix show during one of the seasons most climactic scenes. After that, the song became success having been streamed over 300 times giving the band the well-deserved recognition.  The group is back with a revamped version, and they have taken indie songstress Phoebe Bridgers along for the ride. The now duet melds Bridgers and Lord Huron’s singer Ben Schneider perfectly and adds a slightly different edge to the song, adding a connection one didn’t get the first time around. “The Night We Met” is the kind of song one likes to hold on to late at night, the kind of song that fills the listener with a peaceful meditation. A song that warrants multiple listenings and one to remember.

Lord Huron recently released their third studio album, Vide Noir via Whispering Pines/Republic Records which debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album marks the first top 10 effort for the Los Angeles based band. The Indie group has also been busy touring the States all year and found themselves already playing two New York City shows and two more happening at Brooklyn Steel in August, though both shows are already sold out. Bridgers has upcoming tour dates which include stops at the National’s two-day NYC fest and New Jersey’s XPoNetial Fest.
