This Mother’s Day, Andre 3000 released two songs about his late mother, according to CNN. Andre introduced the tracks with a series of 6 Instagram posts. The first post, features Andre as a child wearing a graduation gown and the caption reads, “I love you mom.”

The first track, “Look Ma No Hands,” is 17 minutes in length and solely instrumental with Andre accompanied by British musician James Blake.  The jazzy track features Andre on clarinet and focuses on a more improvisational style. Blake has collaborated with artists like Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, Beyonce, and Jay-Z. Additionally, Blake collaborated with Kendrick Lamar for the Black Panther soundtrack.

The second track, “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents)” follows the jazz aesthetic and features Andre singing and playing clarinet. The track is infused with melancholy lyrics: “Me and my mother driving to the grocery store/Me riding shotgun with my window rolled down/She smokes cigarettes and gets what she gets by hustling harder/Rollers and a nightgown.”

In August 2017, mxdwn reported Andre was backing away from his rap career saying, “I kind of like not being a part of [rap], now that I’ve done it.  As I get older, I start to see myself move more back from it—the hustle and bustle of putting out an album, the pressure of being in the studio trying to come up with something. Now it’s more like a hobby for me, so I don’t think about it in that way.” André also said that he’s “totally fine with” not doing another OutKast album. “At this stage I’m really more focused on what I am going to be doing 10 years from now. And I hope to God it won’t be rapping.”

For now, Andre seems true to his word. Check out the new tracks below:
