Tenacious D, the comedy rock duo consisting of actor Jack Black and Kyle Grass have kept fans waiting for a return since 2012 when they released Rize of the Fenix. This may have something to do with all of Black acting projects recently including Netflix’s The Polka King and last year’s summer hit Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The wait, though, may be over. In a post on their official Twitter page, Tenacious D announced that they are hitting the open road and kicking off their first U.S. tour in five years.
Starting in June, the duo will play in cities across North America including stops in San Bernardino, Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Brooklyn. The itinerary also includes festival appearances at Quebec’s Montebello Rockfest and Foo Fighters’ Cal Jam 18. Fans can purchase tickets for the highly anticipated run when they go on sale this Friday, May 18th at 10 am.
The duo’s self-titled debut album made fans of us all when it was released back in 2001. It was followed by The Pick Of Destiny in 2006. Now, according to a press release that Black and Grass are working hard on a new album. Will we have something to look forward to in 2019? Here’s hoping. For now, check out their tour dates below.
