Lamb Of God Release Cover of Bad Brains’ “I Against I” Under Former Moniker Burn The Priest

You may have read about Lamb of God’s (aka LoG) new cover album titled Burn The Priest which followed with a couple songs so as to get a taste of what we’re in store door. Now, through a recent press release, LoG has released a new cover: this time a variation of the Bad Brains’ hit “I against I.”

Unlike the original Bad Brains version, Lamb of God takes the hardcore punk and brings more of a heavy metal flavor, most notably in the guitar and vocals. Although they made the song their own, they still stay true to the original, giving the listener a note of nostalgia followed by a burst of electric energy. Check out the whole cover of Bad Brains’ “I And I” below.

Other covers for the Burn the Priest album include songs by the Cro-Mags, Big Black, Ministry, Quicksand, Melvins, and many more!

When talking about their most recent cover, vocalist Randy Blythe says that “It’s been a super-big honor to recently sing with one of my favorite bands of all time. Playing with the Bad Brains was an unearthly experience – trying to replace the fastest-singing human ever on songs like “Banned in DC and “Pay to Cum.” When it came time to choose our cover of I Against I’, I was trying not to sound like H.R., as he’s so unique, but yet also throwing in enough of his style to show respect to his unique voice, through my interpretation. To cover the Bad Brains can’t be a straight-forward cover, we had to nail it, and we did.”

Lamb of God will also be on an enormous summer and fall tour. Look below to see if they will be in your city. And hurry as most dates are sold out.

Jeremy Bacharach: Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy has always been a lover of music. After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves. Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements). Being able to write about what has become the main focus in his life only brings more joy to Jeremy as he is extrmely grateful to be a part of mxdwn!
