Le Butcherettes Release struggle/STRUGGLE EP Featuring Three Versions of New Single

Garage rockers Le Butcherettes have released another new single in advance of their upcoming record in the form of “struggle/STRUGGLE (bi).” This is the 2nd release from the band since they announced their signing to Rise Records, as their first single came in the form of the surging rock of “spider/WAVES.” Additionally, Le Butcheretts has announced the release of a short EP which contains three songs, with each one being a different version of “struggle/STRUGGLE (bi).” The EP was produced by the legendary Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads fame, and it will be available on streaming sites as well as in the form of a special edition flexi disc sold at shows and on the Rise Records website.

Musically speaking, “struggle/STRUGGLE (bi)” rides a slick drum/bass groove along with plenty of pulsing synth tones, with the enigmatic Teri Gender Bender howling over the top. Put it all together, and you have one of the most interesting sounds of any modern band out there today.

The two alternate versions of the song are strong songs in their own right: “struggle/STRUGGLE (/MEN)” is a fluffy piece of neo-folk which sees Gender Bender nail a solid series of vocal lines, while “struggle/STRUGGLE (TAL)” is another warped rocker built around some creepy echo effects and a slithering bassline.

The band has also announced a series of tour dates opening for the legendary Flaming Lips, in addition to their previously announced run of dates with Hot Snakes.
