The Used has recently filed a restraining order against their former guitarist Justin Shekoski, following the actions of firing him earlier this year and replacing him with Hell Or Highwater’s Joey Bradford on tour. This follows the announcement that the band will be performing at the 2018 Vans Warped Tour.
In early February of 2015, the band had announced that guitarist Quinn Allman would part from the band for a one year hiatus. Shekoski, Saosin’s guitarist, had become a replacement for tours. In November of 2015, The Used had confirmed that Allman had parted from the band completely and kept Shekoski as a permanent member.
As mentioned by THEPRP, TMZ got hands on the legal documents and series of events that have caused the restraining order. The band had decided to fire Shekoski on the basis of “artistic differences.” According to TMZ, the former guitarist had threatened to kill himself at one of the band’s shows as a way of revenge for them firing him, saying he will “f**king hang [him]self in the middle of a show.” Shekoski even threatened violence against the band members saying that this “is the only way to get justice.” and that “those f**ks ruined my life and stole all of my creative work.”
The restraining order states that Shekoski is required to stay 100 yards away from all of the band members and any place they work. These places include the studios and performing venues.
