Ash Avildsen, founder of Sumerian Records, and known for his films American Satan (2017) and What Now (2015), is also busy planning the 2018 Summer Slaughter Tour. The tour, an annual heavy metal music tour started in 2007, and founded by Avildsen, has hosted a slew of metal stars including The Black Dahlia Murder and Cannibal Corpse. The tour is known for being true to metal fiends and continues to provide a lineup that appeases even the most extreme fans.
During the 2017 Summer Slaughter, The Black Dahlia released their single “Nightbringers” blasting the audience with a wave of reverberating sound. The 2017 tour also led to the announcement of The Black Dahlia album Nightbringers.
According to Theprp, a recent appearance by Avildsen on the Jasta Show proved informative when Avildsen announced Between the Buried and Me would headline the upcoming 2018 Summer Slaughter Tour along with Sumerian labelmates Born of Osiris and After The Burial.
Between the Buried and Me, out of Raleigh, North Carolina, are known for providing a modern, progressive take on the genre with smooth melodies harmoniously clashing with the erupting onslaught of heavy guitars and mixed with idiosyncratic keyboards. The last few years of the Slaughter tour have proven heavy with the sound of metal—this year doesn’t look to be any different.
