One of the most frustrating conflicts at Coachella 2018 has been X Japan and Beyoncé’s Saturday night headlining performances. X Japan upped their draw a bit by teasing performance with Marilyn Manson tonight and the band delivered with a memorable “cover of a cover.”

With Yoshiki on piano and Manson on vocals, they played Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” a song which the shock-rocker covered to great success back in 1994 on his Smells Like Children album.

Check out a bit of fan footage below:

X Japan, the biggest metal band in Japan, has pulled out all the stops for their two top-billed performances at Coachella 2018. In addition to the appearance by Manson, they brought out holographic likenesses of Hideto “Hide” Matsumoto and Taiji Sawada. Not only that, the band brought out Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland for cameo performance at their weekend one set. The guitarist is set to join them for several dates in the United States while their touring guitarist deals with visa complications.
