Nicole Atkins and Indianola has recently released a cover together of “Candy”. This follows Nicole Atkins’ announcement of spring tour and Indianola’s performance at High Water Festival.

“Candy” is a song released by Iggy Pop, and is a duet with Kate Pierson. The song was a part of Brick by Brick, which was released in 1990.

According to the press release, both artists have commented on the song with Nicole Atkins saying “This was always one of my favorite songs growing up” says Nicole. “I’ve been playing music with Owen for a while now and thought that he would be able to do a great reimagination of this song because of the 50’s dark romanticism in his own music. The original is one of the great duets of my generation and I can’t think of another one that got to me in such a way as “Candy” did.” Owen Beverly from Indianola has added “The Iggy Pop and Kate Pierson version of “Candy” is such an interesting mix of genres, it was fun too push that idea further while staying true to the original.” The song can be listened to below.

The cover was also released as a celebration for the announcement of the tour from April 20th to August 18th. This tour will be in the United States and features stops at festivals such as High Water Festival and Red Wing Roots Music Festival. The artist will be performing with The Wild Reeds and Indianola on April 20th. Through April 22nd to May 5th, the artist will be performing with Indianola.
