Popular metal band Ghost includes frontman, lead singer and primary songwriter Swedish musician Tobias Forge and the other band members known as nameless ghouls. Due to the anonymity of the nameless ghouls it is hard to tell when a member leaves or when a new member joins the group. Ghost is known for its dark theatricality and blending of rock and metal sounds.
According to mxdwn on April 6th through two Youtube videos Theatrical metal band Ghost announced Cardinal Copia as the new frontman for the group, replacing Papa Emeritus Zero. A new frontman for the band, in different clothing and makeup, is announced with every new album cycle. Previously all frontmen had the title of Papa Emeritus, the new Cardinal Copia is seen as a departure from the Emeritus bloodline before him.
Cardinal Copia went through his first live performance with the band on April 6th. The Cardinal played a special acoustic performance in Chicago, IL for his first on-stage performance with the band. According to theprp the Cardinal’s first performance as the frontman included the new single “Rats”. Footage of the single has not been produced yet but there is partial footage for the song “Circle”.
Frontman Tobias Forge is the only original member of the group. Last year band members Simon Soderberg, Mauro Rubino, Henrik Palm and Martin Hjertstedt launched a lawsuit after they left the band last year. The lawsuit argued that Forge did not pay the other members their equal share, claiming that the band operated under a partnership agreement. Forge responded that there was no legal partnership and that Ghost was a solo venture.
