King Diamond Preparing for Work on First New Album in Over 10 Years

Legendary metal singer King Diamond has confirmed that he is working on new material with his band, as reported by Blabbermouth. He recently appeared on Eddie Trunk’s SiriusXM radio show to talk about the progress he has made in coming up with a new storyline for the new album.  He hopes to enter the studio soon to begin the recording process soon, and this will mark the first album of new material from King Diamond since 2007’s Give Me Your Soul Please. King Diamond and his band recently completed a highly successful tour where they performed the entire classic Abigail album. A Blu-ray recording of two performances from the tour is almost complete, and the set will be coming out shortly. King Diamond has indicated that both concerts feature plenty of interesting camera angles and incredible performances that will surely please fans.

The band also recently signed with 5B Management, a company that also manages the likes of Slipknot and Megadeth. King Diamond has stated that the new management partnership will see the band touring throughout most of 2019, with early indications pointing towards the band having its busiest touring schedule of all time.

King and his band are still one of the most incredible live acts around, with the group delivering an impressive set at last year’s Psycho Las Vegas Festival. With plenty of props, strobe lights, and epic sets, King Diamond sets the bar incredibly high for all over theatrically-themed metal bands.

Since emerging as the lead singer for the highly influential Danish metal band Mercyful Fate in the early 80’s, King Diamond has been at the forefront of dark and theatrical heavy metal for well over thirty-five years. Known for his piercing falsetto and horror-inspired lyrics, King Diamond, and his backing band are one of the most revered groups in metal.
