Jonathon Davis, lead vocalist and front man of American metal band Korn, announced that he will be releasing his solo album Black Labyrinth and supporting tour dates on March 19th. The singer’s solo album is set to be released on May 25th with Sumerian Records. This is the first solo album from Davis has put out since his first solo album Alone I Play in 2007. Musical contributions from Davis received two Grammy Award wins, eight Grammy Award nominations and millions of sales.
The first single of Davis’s solo album “What It Is” debuted at number 1 most added single Rock on the radio. The songs on the Davis’ solo album range and differ in sound and style. The second song of the album, “Final Days” offers listeners a melodic and atmospheric sound with sounds lent from the sitar and tabla. “Underneath My Skin” offers a more straight forward arena-rock sound. The other ten tracks differ from Korn’s traditional approach to creating albums by favoring recorded live to tape instead of heavily created inside of the studio. Songs “Everyone” and “What You Believe” will sound familiar to fans of Korn because of Davis’ unique vocals, synths and guitars. In his solo album Davis focused on the themes of apathy, religion and consumerism.
According to mxdwn Davis announced a tour during the summer of 2018 to support his solo album Black Labyrinth. Davis originally announced that the tour will be starting on April 6th and the tour will continue until March 18th, promoting his solo album Black Labyrinth. Since the original announcement tour dates have been added, having the tour end on May 19th in Camden, NJ.
