In Bloom Music Festival was announced on November 30, 2017 with a new name and new time of year. The former Free Press Summer Festival was changed to the In Bloom Festival with performances on March 24-25 in 2018. The two-day festival will take place on four different stages at Elanor Tinsley Park in Houston, Texas. The festival is brought together by a founder of FPSF and the founders of Austin City Limits Music Festival. The festival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with a new name and new dates while staying at the same location. Tickets for the festival can be bought here.
The festival starts on Saturday, March 24th with performances by headliners Beck and Incubus. American singer songwriter Beck Hansen, known professionally as Beck, is performing in the In Bloom Festival for the second stop in his 2018 tour. Beck released his 13th studio album Colors on October 13th, 2017. American rock band Incubus is stopping by the festival while touring North America for their 8th studio album Incubus 8. The band released their 8th studio album on April 21,2017 through Island Records. Canadian indie rock band Broken Social Scene released their fourth preview single,”Stay Happy” on June 26th, 2017 with new member Engle on lead vocals. Broken Social Scene will be performing in the festival as part of their tour in North America and the UK.
Beck, Incubus and Broken Social Scene will be joined by other artist on Saturday. American hip-hop artist Lil Uzi Vert is also performing in the festival after his debut studio album Luv is Rage 2 in August 25, 2017. Lil Dicky, American Rapper and comedian, released the music video “Freaky Friday” featuring Chris Brown on March 15th on Youtube. “Broccoli” rapper DRAM kicks off a small US with his performance in the festival. Other performances include Grizly Bear, H.E.R., Cigarettes after sex, Ugly God, Ganja White Night, Wolf Alice, Mija and Ying Yang Twins. Artist Dhani Harrison, The Frights, Loudpvck, Melvv, Niel Frances, STS, Say Girl Say, Get a Life, Vodi, Velveteen Echo, Pearl Crush, Anchor North and Black Swan Yoga will also help kick of the beginning of the Texan festival.
The festival is continued on Sunday, March 25th with headliners Queens of the Stone Age and Martin Garrix. American rock band Queens of the Stone Age released their most recent album Villians on August 25, 2017. As part of the Villians tour the band headlined at Madison Square Garden in New York City where they previously opened for other bands in early 2000s. Dutch DJ Martin Garrix makes an appearance in Texas to headline the festival while on a world tour. American rapper 21 Savage with his debut album Issa Album released in 2017 joins the festival line up. American rapper T-Pain adds the music festival to the dates while he tours for his 5th album Oblivion which was released on November 17, 2017.
More performances include artists Explosions in the Sky, Sylvan Esso, Highly Suspect, Gramatik, Moon Taxi, Slander, Houndmouth, Broods and Twin Shadow. Sunday’s performances are continued by Shiba San, London on da Track, Jax Jones, Craig Finn & The Uptown Controlers, Son Little, Young Bombs, Mikky Eko and Matt Maeson. The festival is wrapped up by performances by Venemous Maximus, El Lago, Astragal, Birthday Club, Tee Lerone, Jerk and a second performance by Black Swan Yoga.
