Twin Shadow Releases New Song “Brace” Featuring Rainsford

You may have heard the buzz surrounding the new Twin Shadow (TS) album titled Caer. Now, through a press release, TS has shared with the world a new single and music video titled Brace and features the brilliant Rainsford. The song features a more classic use of instrument as there seems to be a heavy utilization of string ensemble and brass ensemble and a sampled choir. However, playing alongside the percussion of this song brings out an amazing head-bobbing beat. This song about the feelings of gaining and losing love are accompanied by amazing vocals that, instead of leading the song, holds the song hand, allowing for a full wall of sound and color.

The video itself acts as both the official music and lyric video. See it below. You can preorder Caer here.

In support of the upcoming album, Twin Shadow will also tour alongside rock leaders Beck, Alt-J, and Yuno. The newly released single, “Brace,” is the third release in preparation for the new TS album after “Saturdays” and “Little Woman.”

There has already been large praise surrounding the singles from the like of Nylon Magazine and more.

“If The Breakfast Club came out this year, it would sound a lot like this deliciously alt-pop gem.” – Nylon

“It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Twin Shadow, but it seems that his absence has done nothing to dull his uncanny ability to make ’80s power-pop anthems that transcend the decade to sound more ’80s than the ’80s.” – Highsnobiety

“The video for ‘Little Woman’ is a bare and striking affair, matching the minimal but grandiose feel of the track itself. It’s a bold reinvention of his sound, but retains the feel of his previous output all the same.” – Pigeons & Planes

Jeremy Bacharach: Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy has always been a lover of music. After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves. Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements). Being able to write about what has become the main focus in his life only brings more joy to Jeremy as he is extrmely grateful to be a part of mxdwn!
