Bon Iver Announces Spring 2018 Tour Dates

American indie folk band Bon Iver was created by singer- songwriter Justin Vernon in 2006. Vernon independently debuted the album For Emma, Forever Ago in July 2007. The debut album was recorded by Vernon when he isolated himself in a cabin in Wisconsin. He moved from North Carolina to the isolated cabin in Wisconsin to recover from the breaking up of the band DeYarmond Edison and an ended relationship. February 2018 marked the 10 year anniversary of the world-wide release for the album. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of For Emma, Forever Ago Bon Iver held a special event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The special event will commemorate the album that went world-wide ten years ago.

Vernon released his second album Bon Iver, Bon Iver June 17, 2011 which included a different musical direction and more people than the first. The album was recorded in a remolded Veterinary clinic that was bought by Vernon and his brother.  After the release of the second album the band announced that it will be taking a break, but not breaking up. The break was announced from the band in 2012. While the band was on break they released the song “Heavenly Father” for the film Wish I Was Here in 2014. The band announced a tour in Asia in early 2016.

Bon Iver released their third album 22, A Million in 2017, taking another direction musically from the first two albums. The album has been compared to Radiohead and described as strange and experimental. The band was nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Alternative Music Album in 2017 for 22, A Million.
